PREVIEW TO MY BOOK: “ELLIOTT SETS THE WORLD ON FIRE”
Chapter 1
In which Elliott regrets turning on the car.
View: Elliott
It was a nice Sunday morning when all the sounds and bangs came from down the street.
I sat up satisfied, jumping down the stairs, when I came across a baby crocodile with a mallet in it’s jaws. It had bumps all down it’s back and very smooth sides. I sat down and asked the little baby croc, “It was you, wasn’t it?” That’s when I heard another rumble. I looked out the window and there was a parade maybe seven blocks down, making bangs and bongs. I turned back to the croc but he was gone. I ran upstairs, burst through the door, and tripped over the millions of books on the floor. My mother was always in the library after Dad went away, which he did when I was like 4 months old. The only thing left of dad was the one picture. He was handsome but in a weird way. With ember eyes and dark brown hair and skin. I looked down and saw a big hole getting bigger every moment. Books were piling up and up making a hole. I’m running for my life, through the door, down the stairs, out the front door. There was my moms car. Click click. I start picking the lock . Until 2 minutes later I got in. When I turned to say bye to the house and immediately regretted it. The house was gone. I look at the front and see like billions of people coming towards me. I hurriedly hot-wired the car and turned it to drive , pulling the lever out of parking. I drove backwards into a portal not knowing it until too late.
